Caritas Mahagi-Nioka distributes 100kg of corn flour, 30kg of beans, 10 liters of vegetable oil, 4kg of fish and 2kg of salt. In addition to this assistance in food, it also distributes the following items as seeds: 17kg of beans, 6kg of soya, 4kg of corn, 20 grams of cabbage, amaranth, eggplant, onions, etc. All this is accompanied by tillage tools including 2 hoes, 1 rake, 1 trident and 1 watering can for relaunching agricultural activities.

According to the coordinator of the Diocesan Office of Solidarity and Sharing within Caritas Mahagi-Nioka, these activities aim to combat visible food insecurity in returned households affected by insecurity.

“We have launched food security activities and mainly agricultural recovery where we distribute agricultural inputs consisting of food seeds and market garden seeds with tillage tools. We give them seeds and tillage tools for the revival of agricultural activities because In fact, the big problem that we have diagnosed is food insecurity. These seeds are certified by the appropriate state service. We provide these seeds with food so that those who receive them actually plant them,” explained Dieudonné Wanican Thepolo.

In total, 2,270 households will benefit from this project.
