MAHAGI-N : Caritas remembers its late agent Jean Paul NG’ABIDONG’.
The Mahagi-Nioka Diocesan Caritas organized a voting mass this Thursday, 10/31/2024. It was in memory of his agent, driver Jean Paul NG’ABIDONG’ BABY, who died and was buried two weeks ago. The mass celebrated by Director Abbot Prosper took place in the chapel located within the central office of this charitable structure.
CDM staff were strongly represented alongside members of the biological family and friends of the deceased. In the celebrant's homily, Father Prosper RUGAMBA first insisted on the character of Judas in the Old Testament. “He collected money on behalf of the deceased in his region, and sent to the priests in Jerusalem for forgiveness, atonement for the sins of these deceased. Let us also respect the pastoral directives of our diocese, to request masses for our deceased today,” he urged, deploring the habit of Christians who accumulate the names of the deceased, when it was necessary 5,000uxg per deceased . “It is a question of faith for those who understand the importance of Mass for the deceased.”
The gospel retraced the secret for those who would like to live eternity. “Our brother Jean Paul lived on the path of Christ from baptism to the Eucharist. Let us therefore pray that his sins be forgiven, he certainly needs it,” said Father Prosper, continuing that salvation is today and not tomorrow.
At the end of the mass, the Director of Caritas reiterated their affection for supporting the biological family, especially the widow and orphans, in order to provide for some necessary needs.
